Dean Braxton: Testimony of Dying and Going to Heaven
We are excited to share another powerful episode of Rise Up with Jenny and Katie. Our heart is to reach people all over the world with the truth about Jesus. This past month, we met with Dean Braxton. He and his wife, Marilyn, have been sharing their testimony of how Dean died for one hour and 45 minutes and was miraculously prayed back to life. During his experience in Heaven, he was told by Jesus, “No, it is not your time. Go back!” Marilyn shares how she pressed into God through prayer and what it took on her part to believe for healing for Dean off his death bed. Their testimony has caused many to give their hearts to the Lord and has given many the sense of how much God loves each and every one of us.
In this interview with Dean, he shares with viewers that thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, we no longer have to experience death. Our spirits live on and do not die with our physical body. The body struggles to live without the spirit. For those who are born again, the spirit leaves the body, and then the body dies. Just like the creation of man, the breath of the spirit was breathed into the body, and then the body lived. This is the good news, the gospel — we will not have to suffer death because Jesus paid the price.
Dean also goes on to share that from his experience in heaven, there is nothing to be peaceful from because everything is perfect. The best part of it all was that he fit perfectly. When we accept Jesus as our savior, He goes and prepares a place, so that we fit. Jesus is more beautiful than any words can describe — He is pure love and that’s what we get to experience in heaven.

The Rise Up Show has broadcasted to the 10/40 Window bi-weekly since March of 2020. The “10/40 Window” is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia that is home to two thirds of the world’s population, an estimated 5.11 billion people. This region typically has less access to the gospel, with as many as three out of five people having zero access to the gospel message. The Rise Up Show receives hundreds of thousands of calls each week, and since airing for the first time last year, has grown to nearly 1.5 million viewers per episode.
The viewers of Rise Up With Jenny and Katie are diverse, with people of Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian faith. Many in this region show legal, economic, and social preferences to their religion and suppress most who claim to follow Jesus. The poorest of the poor predominantly live in the 10/40 Window. Spiritual strongholds maintain poverty, disease, and oppression, with billions being held captive and kept from the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19
Jesus makes it clear in this passage that one of His missions, and also ours, is to bring the Gospel message to those who are oppressed and being held captive. We are to proclaim the good news and bring light and life to all we can.
